there are a few things in my rough draft that i could use some help with like the layout, finding out what to say and how to say it, also not repeating myself on the topic.

I am not sure what your main thesis/point is. I think your paper would benefit from organizing around a single idea.

I would maybe expand more on what kind of topic of writing interests you. You mentioned crime stories but what about them interests you. Expanding on this might lead to more revelations on how your likes and dislikes on literature came to be.
