i feel that they have different opinions on success because of the way that they grew up. When her dad grew up it was all about males doing things and not having women do anything other then household chores. I feel as if her opinion on being successful is having a well paying job and having a husband to be make sure you can have a great life.

I feel as if Malcom X’s intended audience is teens anf young adults to prove to them no matter what is going on in your life good or bad you are going to always get something out of it the way you need too.

Malcolm X was an extremely important figure in the American civil rights movement. He advocated for the separation of black and white people, which served as direct contrast to Dr. King’s promotion of integration. During his time in prison, X joined the Nation of Islam, who followed the teachings of Elijah Muhammad. He later became disillusioned with the Nation of Islam and converted to Sunni Islam. Malcolm X was assassinated by members of the Nation due to suspected conflict.
Malcolm X sought his own knowledge and literacy. It was not given to him by society so he had to take it himself. He implores people to seek knowledge themselves and not be limited to the basic stuff forced to be taught in school. Knowledge is power in X’s eyes.

question about different ideas

week 4 blog post
The only time i can think of when i encountered alien literacies are when i am feeling down about school or my life and i can always get back up from them and conquer them myself. Whenever i am feeling like i’m going to fall in life i always tend to think of the bright side and more positive side of the situation and make the most out of it. Life is to short to sit here and wait to see whats going to happen you just have to do it and see for yourself. The reasons that i feel that way are because you have to make yourself feel better about what you are going through and not bring yourself down about it all. Every once in awhile i will tend to feel as if i can not get out of that mood because i have sat here and pushed myself down so hard that i dont have the strength to get back up. In life though you can not just wait life is not a waiting game to see what is going to happen you have to actually put in the work to make your life great. Listen to others for advice and help when they want to give it to you, you can not shut the world out during a hard time in life.

While reading the Branch and Lopez claim i can totally agree with what brach has to say about certain races getting treated differently. Branch was also a white man who grew up in California and Lopez was a Mexican american women who was born in a Texas border state For instance branch was more privileged then lopez she grew up with one parent and grandparents who owned a farm and branch grew up with 2 parents and his dad having a steady job. Branch tended to be given the things that lopez had to work for and a lot of the things he needed were right around the corner but lopez had to walk a far distance to what she wanted. 9/10/19 3 minute reflection
while reading the book writing about writing Brant had to say things that sponsor to literacy. Such as the evolution of literacy. There were only a few ideas and topics that were new to me and the ones that were new were very confusing to me.

What confused me the most was the fact that there are many different ways that anyone can view what writing is or what it should be. It confused me because i never viewed it as what it really is. I always viewed it as being how one wants something to be not what it needs to be.
