While reading the Branch and Lopez claim i can totally agree with what brach has to say about certain races getting treated differently. Branch was also a white man who grew up in California and Lopez was a Mexican american women who was born in a Texas border state For instance branch was more privileged then lopez she grew up with one parent and grandparents who owned a farm and branch grew up with 2 parents and his dad having a steady job. Branch tended to be given the things that lopez had to work for and a lot of the things he needed were right around the corner but lopez had to walk a far distance to what she wanted.
